Instant quote calculators for trade and service business websites.
An instant quote calculator for your website that gives visitors a real price, worked out from your own pricing rules, and hands you the enquiry with every detail filled in. For tradies, cleaning companies, hire and events businesses, clinics and other service businesses across Australia.
A fixed written quote before we start. Pay upfront or in stages. Ongoing management from go-live.
A real price on your website, from your own pricing.
Most people visiting a trade or service website want one thing answered before they pick up the phone: roughly what will this cost? A page that says "contact us for a quote" asks them to commit before they have that answer, and many of them go back to the search results instead.
A website quote calculator answers the question on the spot. The visitor answers a few plain questions, sees a price or a range, and leaves their details to lock it in or book the next step. You get an enquiry from someone who already knows your price is in their range, with the size, location and type of job already filled in.
The difference with one we build is the maths. Off-the-shelf calculators add up fixed amounts. Ours runs on the same rules you use to price a job, including the ones where one answer changes another.
A calculator can run on the same pricing engine as your team's custom quoting software, and it is one of the tools we build under custom software.
Book a free strategy callSigns your contact form is costing you enquiries
Usually a business already paying for Google Ads, Meta or SEO, with a price that can be estimated from a handful of answers.
Visitors leave at "contact us for a quote"
Plenty of people want a rough price before they talk to anyone. A form that promises a call back loses the ones who are still comparing.
You quote jobs you were never going to win
Site visits and phone calls go on enquiries whose budget was never close. A price up front sorts those out before anyone gets in the ute.
Enquiries arrive with half the details
Name and phone number, then three rounds of questions to find the size, the suburb and what they actually want done.
A calculator widget cannot do your maths
You tried a form-builder calculator, but your price depends on several answers at once and it can only add up fixed amounts.
What your customer sees and does
Five steps from a curious visitor to a priced enquiry in your system.
A custom calculator, not a widget
Six things a website quote calculator built for your business does that a plug-in calculator cannot.
When a widget is enough. If your pricing is a flat rate per item or per hour, a form-builder calculator will do the job. A custom build earns its place when the answers interact, when the price needs your own rules, or when the lead has to land in your systems and your ad reporting.
What goes into the build
Every calculator includes the first three. The rest depend on how you follow up and what you want to measure.
What a quote calculator looks like in different businesses
Illustrative examples to show how the same idea fits different work. They are not past client projects.
Built for the traffic you already pay for
Most of the visitors who would use a calculator arrive from an ad or a search result. We run Google Ads, Meta and SEO campaigns for trades and service businesses, so we build calculators with that traffic in mind.
- Landing pages that open on the right calculator for the ad that was clicked
- Each step measured, so drop-off on a particular question is visible
- Completed estimates sent to Google Ads and Meta as conversions, with the estimated value
- Booked and invoiced jobs reported back later, so bidding learns from real work
If your tracking needs work first, our Google and tracking setup gets the foundations right before the calculator goes live.
Connected to the tools you already use
A calculator is only useful if the lead reaches someone fast. We connect it to the places your team already works.
How a calculator project is priced and run
A calculator project runs the same way as every custom software build: discovery, a written scope with a fixed quote, building in stages you test against real past jobs, then go-live and ongoing management.
Every pricing model is different, so there is no price list. You see both figures, in writing, for an agreed scope, before we start.
A one-off build fee
Fixed in your quote after discovery. Pay it upfront, or in stages tied to milestones.
Ongoing management
Every build comes with it: hosting, monitoring, updates, fixes and small improvements, billed monthly from the day your calculator goes live. New services, seasonal prices and question changes are part of looking after it.
Who owns the calculator, and who owns the leads
We agree code ownership per project, in writing, before the build starts. There are two options.
We keep the code, you hold a licence
Scalepoint owns the code and you get a licence to use the calculator on your website. You can buy the code out later if your plans change.
You own the code once it is paid for
Ownership of the code passes to you when the build fee is paid in full.
Your data is always yours, whichever option you choose. Every lead, answer and estimate belongs to your business, and you can export them at any time.
Other ways we can help
Common questions about website quote calculators
Is the price on the calculator a quote or an estimate?+
You decide. Where a job can be priced from a few answers, the calculator can show a firm price. Where a site check is needed, it shows a range with the assumptions spelled out, and your terms make clear that the final price is confirmed after inspection.
Can it go on our existing website?+
Yes. We build it to sit inside the website you already have, in your design and on your domain, rather than as a box loaded from someone else's site. If your website is due for a rebuild, we can do both together.
Should we ask for contact details before or after showing the price?+
Both work, and the right answer depends on your market. Asking first captures more names; showing the price first builds trust and brings in fewer but warmer enquiries. We can set it up either way and measure which suits your traffic.
How does the calculator handle GST?+
Prices can be shown including GST, excluding GST with the GST amount listed, or both, depending on whether you mostly sell to households or businesses. GST reporting itself stays in Xero or MYOB.
What about jobs that are too complex to price online?+
The calculator can recognise them from the answers and switch to booking an inspection or a call, so complex jobs still become an enquiry instead of a wrong number.
Who owns the calculator and the leads it collects?+
The leads and all the data they contain are always yours, and you can export them at any time. Code ownership is agreed in writing before the build: by default we keep the code and you hold a licence to use it, with the option to buy it out, or the code becomes yours once the build fee is paid in full.
